With the apt motto "The Best Little Guitar Shop in Texas" Guitar Tex is indeed a small music store in Olmos Park that's been in business for over 20 years. They sell a variety of guitars like Larrivee, Martin, Reverend, and Kremona guitars.

As implied by their name, High School Music has a customer base consisting mainly of band students. Their spacious store holds several types of instruments like clarinets, cymbals, drums, guitars, keyboards, recorders, trumpets, and violins as well as method books for music educators and music students alike. They also special order less common instruments and accessories for their customers as needed.
Their fondness for their customers is evident by the look of their walls. They display photos of different middle school and high school bands they’ve worked with dating back to the 1970s. High School Music itself began in the 1940s and their founder’s son and granddaughter currently manage operations of their business.

Terra Nova's founder began as an apprentice sitar repairman in his home country before immigrating to the United States and creating his own business focused on orchestral instruments.
Terra Nova has an inventory of tens of thousands of cellos, violas, and violins available for rental or sale. They welcome everyone to their store by ensuring they have instrument options for every price point possible. That said, the typical customer at Terra Nova is an intermediate string instrument player looking to invest in a quality instrument.
